Javad Rostami

Research Associate in Ultrasound Signal Processing

Javad is a Research Associate funded by the Centre for Medical Engineering, working to foster collaborations between PURL and other groups within the Department of Surgical and Interventional Engineering to advance intraoperative tracking technologies.

Javad has his BSc and MSc degrees in mechanical engineering where he developed his interest in working in the ultrasonic field. He started his PhD in 2013 at the City University of Hong Kong, working on ultrasonic-guided waves for nondestructive testing applications. After graduating in 2018, he worked as a senior mechanical engineer at ASTRI and as a postdoctoral fellow at the City University of Hong Kong. In 2020, he joined the University of Leeds to manage a knowledge transfer partnership (KTP) project between the Ultrasound Group at the University of Leeds and Oil and Gas Measurement (OGM) ltd in ultrasonic flow metering. Since 2022, he has been with the Photons+ Ultrasound Research Laboratory (PURL) at King’s College London as a postdoctoral research associate working on Ultrasound imaging and tracking for minimally invasive procedures.
